I love everything that you do. I need to organize and store all my doll’s clothes, shoes, purses and accessories. Your girls wear nothing but the best high-end fashions but I need some ideals and getting my stuff together once and for all. Can you please suggest something and maybe show pictures as an example what to do

Yeah… my hurricane of a room is way past cute enough to take photos of. It’s like a doll explosion happened up in here. I have a LOT of large Rubbermaid drawer cabinets, over 12 of them stacked 2 high. I use a lot of boxes from Ikea, and sometimes huge Rubbermaid bins and Hefty zipper sealed plastic bags for all my diorama trinkets, clothing, and general stuff. It’s all in a place where I can find it…but it’s not pretty. LOL. I wish you the best of luck and hope you never get to the obsessive, hoarder, plays-with-dolls-too-much phase of life I’m at. I’ve come to realize there will be no organization good enough to make me look sane and clutter free. Thanks for you post. JATMAN

Hi, I’m hoping you can help me out with a “figure” question. Have you tried putting any of the newer “Ken doll” heads onto 1/6 scale action figure bodies? I have a (Barbie) Rock Hudson head and am wanting to put it on an articulated body (but don’t know which to look at). Do you have any suggestions for me to checkout? Thanks!

      Hi Lula,

I emailed you. I haven’t tried removing the newer Ken heads. Sorry. It’s on my list of things to try. I’ll keep you posted if I do in the future.

Dear Johanna, I wasn’t able to figure out where to comment—but loved Chapter 11 of Sisters. I can’t imaging eat monumental task it was to change everything—all that busy work, but the photos are great and showing wonderfully in the new format. Looking forward to the blog/stories etc…will work out for you, and become second nature, so you can get back to creating!

    I am a disabled senior
Canadian woman(72) who is a retired drummer & am in process of putting together a diorama of a 60’s/70’s Rockabilly/R&R 6pc. band. I have had a model of my last set of drums crafted & have purchased about a dozen guitars of various styles, as well as amps & speakers. Am now in the process of building the stage. All this is in 1/4 scale. I can build all stage equipment with little problems but it’s the figures that are giving me a major headache.
I need 4 average sized males 16″-18″ with normal street clothes of the era with many some leather. Also 2 women of average size 14″-16″ one blonde (drummer) & one dark hair (keyboards). Clothes for females similar to males, no dresses. Do you know of anyone that could supply these for me? They will need to be posable to enable them to hold the instruments/drumsticks. Great site by the way. Thank you. Cheers Angela oldbroad.

Where to start… First, you sound like too much fun and I just want to watch you work. Second 1:4 scale has always been more challenging than 1:6 as I couldn’t find the diorama furniture or equal figure selection for that size, which is why I abandoned collecting it. The only 1:4 scale figures that would be capable of holding instruments or drums that I know of would be BDJ ball-jointed ones and they’re way out of my price range. Just Google BDJ dolls and you’ll find lots and lots of on-line stores for female and male in that size or even larger with tons of articulation and different hands you can switch out. I used to collect Tonner 16″ dolls which had one hand that grabbed nothing and couldn’t be switched out, so I don’t recomment them for this project. Both types have lots of clothing possibilities. Etsy is a good place to find OOAK fashions for these dolls. If you can sew, making them yourself would be the quickest and cheapest route. BDJ clothing is way more than I would spend on my own clothes. I don’t know if this has helped, but I wish you the best of luck! JATMAN

Thank you so very much for your response, & I am very sorry for time it has taken this oldbroad to respond but I have been going g through a bunch of health issues which is ending up having to have a replacement of a heart valve that was replaced in 08. Anyway will look into the link you provided. Hope all is well with you. Just out of curiosity, are out of the Philippines? I just thought your name sounded like a Philippino/a name. I live in western Canada. Cheers oldbroad Angela Dodds
