Amazing story. I really like the boxing ring that you constructed, looks realistic. I just wish hottoys would have released more of the muscular bodies. I found a couple on ebay but they were outragously priced. 🙁
Always amazing!!!! Great job and big…..
Thanks so much Amanda! Big hug to you too. JATMAN
Nice! You do such great work that at times I forgot they were dolls!
Loving the story AND the production. You are a perfectionist. Kudos, Jatman!!!
I like how you used ‘perfectionist’ as a compliment. LOL. Guilty as charged. And thank you very, very much. I want you to forget they’re dolls. That means they have some talent. I’ll let my boys know. Next thing, they’ll be wanting an awards show…. ooh, not a bad idea. (grinning) big hug to you! JATMAN
You never disappoint! The tension is so thick a knife won’t cut it…I sense some serious future conflict, and maybe an ass-whooping in the future…LOL…thanks for sharing!!!
There will be serious ass-whooping, I will not disappoint you there. Thanks for wonderful words of support, Michael. I always appreciate it. JATMAN
Fantastic work, JATMAN! You have such great taste in your set design and dolls. This story just gets better and better.
Thanks so much Seth! JATMAN
Okay WOW!!! I am so impressed with your writing. THe rich character development and the sexual tension reallt bring this story to life. I’m not much of a boxing fan and to be honest I was gonna give this story a pass. I am so glad I took time to read it. Thank you Johanna for all your hard work
Chris
PS I laughed at your diggs at the Paprazzi 🙂
Thank you so much Christopher. It’s funny, I went through all the different types of sports there are, and looked at what I could build, or find costumes for. Boxing was the most attainable. Building the ring made me pull my hair out for a few months, but once I built it the story started to come together. I’m a lover of human drama, and the boxing was there to propel the drama forward.
Now that I’ve written a story about it, I’ve come to see all the interesting metaphors within the sport. It’s one of the few out there that don’t chase a ball/puck or any other object around. It’s in no way a team sport and it blatantly announces the hazard upfront… you’re going to take a beating to get through the match. You get a beating in soccer, football, wrestling, rugby and many other sports, but sometimes by accident and you don’t expect it when you get it, not like boxing. You don’t face your opponent head on, eye to eye, in many sports; fencing, tennis, football, martial arts and wresting are a few. But only a few like cage fighting, martial arts, wresting and boxing get as close, as personal. Most human beings go there entire life avoiding ever getting into a fight with anyone. No one likes get to hurt and most don’t like to hurt others. If you’ve ever stubbed your toe on a table, then instinctively turned around and kicked the table for hurting you, think about the amount of instinctual rage you’d have getting punched in the face by another boxer? They control it, harness it and work on their breathing and stamina to stay frosty and alert after all those rounds. They work hard to hit when it’s strategically right, not out of emotion. Removing the violence from it, I’d say that could be a very successful way to live and take the hits that life gives you. Remove the uncontrolled emotional response, take the blows, work on your stamina. Keeping calm and focused, hit only when it’s strategically necessary to move forward.
They always say when you’re playing sports as a kid that it shapes your character and you learn things from it. I find that you can learn from just about any experience if you look hard enough.
I might use the ring again in new stories. Who knows, maybe a WWF type wresting story. LOL. I’m crazy. I don’t even know what I’ll end up doing next. Thanks so much for reading and always leaving such wonderful wonderful comments. I truly appreciate it.
PS: The paparazzi really need to stop swarming in traffic and causing celebrities to have car accidents just to get a photo opp. Take photos while people are standing, walking, eating, whatever but not operating a vehicle of any kind. Never endanger people’s lives. That’s just criminal.
